Some basic computer terms.
OS - This refers to your operating
system. Usually Windows XP or Vista.
Processor - This is the brains of the
operation. A typical IBM compatible computer uses an
Intel or AMD processor. Measured in Gigahertz.
Ram / Memory - Holds a cache of
Data, 1GB or 1 Gigabyte is typical on most new systems.
Its usually coined with terms like DDR, DDR2. The higher
the frequency the better that speed i.e. 800 is
faster than 400.
DVD Ram / Rom Drive - Ram typically
refers to a reusable media where as a rom drive is
typically a one shot deal. Also called DVD-R, DVD+RW,
DVD-RW, DVD+R.
